Extract from Board of Trade Despatch to the Foreign

Office No.437 of the 13th. March, 1912.

It is understood that the proposal is that a branch of the Hongkong Register should be established in Shanghai where the documents required for the incorporation of the Shanghai Companies could be received, but that the actual incorporation of the company is to take place in Hongkong and that after incorporation jurisdiction in

respect of Shanghai Companies shall be exercised by the Courts in

Shanghai both in matters arising during the life of the companies and

also in respect of their liquidation.
